Fundraisers

An important part of being a Band Booster is helping to raise money for your student and the band organizations.  Center Grove offers several different programs to help offset the cost of participation.

Our major fundraising activity during the marching band season is the annual Cavalcade of Champions.  This day long invitational marching band competition will feature some of the finest marching band programs in Indiana.  It will also offer an opportunity to showcase the local community.  This event draws thousands of marching band fans from throughout the state to see their favorite band in competition.  This year the event will be held on Saturday, October 9th beginning at 4:00pm.  Click here for more information.

STUDENT ESCROW ACCOUNT:  YOU CAN RAISE MONEY TO PAY BAND EXPENSES

Each band student has an escrow account with the CG Trojan Band Boosters.  Credits in this account can be used to offset marching band, color guard, winter guard or winter percussion fees, band T-shirts, reeds, valve oil, drum sticks, mallets, letter jackets and any other band-related expense.  The student escrow account is funded by student participation in band fundraisers.  During the year there are many opportunities to earn money for the escrow account.  Each fundraiser gives a portion of the profits to the student’s escrow, depending on the fundraiser and level of involvement by the student.  The store gift card program with Meijer, Marsh, Kroger and Kohl’s is an easy way to earn money for your escrow.

Monies from the student escrow account containing a positive balance can be used by completing an Escrow Account Form in the band office.  The Booster Treasurer keeps track of escrow accounts with all account activity. Escrow accounts will be frozen on April 30 of each year to allow for fiscal year balancing.

STORE GIFT CARD PROGRAM:  Meijer, Marsh, Kroger and Kohl’s

How it works:  Store gift cards are purchased by the CGTBB for 95% of the face value, which they offer for sale at face value to band supporters, friends and family members.  The 5% profit from the sale of these gift cards is divided between the Band Booster’s general account (2.5%) and the earning student’s escrow account (2.5 %).  On special occasions (such as band trips), the full 5% may be applied to the student’s escrow account.

Gift cards are available for purchase in the band office, from Mrs. Manning or from Linda Simon.  You may purchase gift cards at every Band Booster meeting and at most band-related functions.  The cards come in denominations of $20 and $100 (Marsh), and $25 and $100 (Kohl’s, Meijer).  Kroger cards are $50 and are renewable at the store.  You can renew the card by cash, check, credit or debit card.  Friends, family and businesses can purchase them as well.  They are used just like cash to pay for groceries, gas and other purchases at each of the stores.  You can even use the Kohl’s gift cards to make payments at the store on your existing Kohl’s charge account.

There is NO COST involved in this program.  You buy $20 worth of gift cards and you get $20 to spend.  Please make checks payable to: CGTBB (Center Grove Trojan Band Boosters) and note on the memo line of your check your student’s name and brief description of the purchase.

SHOW SHIRTS

During the marching season a special T- shirt is designed for the show the students are performing. The design is available in adult sizes of regular T-shirts, long-sleeved T-shirts, regular sweatshirts and hooded sweatshirts.  They are sold on a pre-paid order basis once during the season.  The order form will be available in the Music Office and on www.trojanband.com as soon as the shirt is designed and the price determined.  This is a totally voluntary purchase.  Many parents like to wear the show shirts to the contests.

There are many items and things that come up during the year that you may wish to purchase.  Some of them include (cost estimated):

Items sold by the CGTBB may be paid for with escrow money with a positive balance. 

CGTBB Spirit Sales offer many CG items throughout the year at football games, booster meetings, and Cavalcade. 

LETTER JACKETS

Students are eligible to purchase jackets after completing three semesters in the instrumental program.  The jacket is a red wool athletic jacket (girls jacket has a hood) with chevrons, numerals and a block “CG” for marchers.  The jackets are fitted and ordered before spring break and are presented before the end of the school year.  

Mikes Car Wash Coupons

Mikes car wash has been an avid supporter of the band program through the sale of discounted car wash coupons.  These coupons are sold by the student to build their escrow and support the band.  They make great gifts for all of your family and friends!

Dining to Donate

Several times per year, the band schedules a day or a night out at a local restaurant.  These restaurants have agreed to share their income with the Center Grove band program.  The process can vary, but generally a coupon is required to be submitted to the restaurant at the time of purchase.
